For more than thirty years, I have served as a husband, father, pastor, teacher, and leader. Looking back, I can see one calling woven through every season: helping people become ready for God’s purposes.

“We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone complete in Christ. I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me.”

Through decades of marriage and family, pastoral ministry, leadership, joy, disappointment, success, failure, waiting, and perseverance, God has patiently shaped my convictions and character. The years have taught me that leadership is less about having every answer and more about faithfully pointing people to the One who does.

Today, I want to invest what God has entrusted to me in the next generation: pastors and churches, marketplace leaders and organizations, husbands and wives, dads and moms. Everything I write, teach, coach, and build is aimed toward helping people know Christ more deeply, understand His Word more completely, and live ready for His mission.

One of God’s greatest gifts in my life is my family. Lynlee and I have been married for more than 34 years. She is my closest friend, greatest encourager, and favorite adventure partner.

God has blessed us with three children, each now married, and nine grandchildren. Our prayer is that they would know and love Jesus, walk faithfully with Him, and live with wisdom, courage, humility, and joyful obedience.

Everything I hope to encourage in churches, leaders, and organizations begins here. Before I desire readiness for anyone else, I desire it for the people seated around our own table.

The work ahead

Multiplying what
God has entrusted.

This season is increasingly about multiplying rather than simply leading: developing healthy leaders and organizations, writing resources that outlive my own voice, strengthening churches, and helping people become spiritually mature, mission-ready disciples.

My goal is to help people become ready—ready to live in a daily relationship with Jesus, ready to live for God’s mission, ready to finish the course faithfully, and, as a part of the church, ready to meet Christ.
